However, the Resurrection has been badly misunderstood. If we return to the understanding of the early church, before the gospels were written, we begin to tap into the mystical meaning. Today we feel that we have overcome this historical betrayal, however, statistics are showing us something different. There are many kinds of betrayals and 95% of us will experience some form of betrayal at least once in our lifetime. And this will continue to happen until women recognize how they betray themselves. As a result we will be raising men who have little power, motivation, and strength. If we want to save the world...it starts with us: the creators, mothers, daughters, and sisters. It’s also the term we use to express deep feelings to our loved ones and those types of feelings are indeed some of the greatest gifts of these human lives. However, the power of love as a universal, spiritual principle goes far beyond individual relationships and personal feelings of affection. Love as spiritual power is a unifying, harmonizing force that can deliver miracles and heal our world. The spiritual power of love can end wars and repair the seemingly irreparable. We get programmed to view ourselves as not enough, not having enough, not doing enough. We forget who we really are, forget that we are powerful spiritual beings with agency and ability to co-create our own lives and experiences. A Course in Miracles teaches that viewing ourselves through a lens of littleness is a form of self-attack. It takes intentional focus to deprogram ourselves from these messages but it can be done and it is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves and our world. Light is the superstar in spiritual circles, but the Sacred Dark is just as important and powerful. In this season of Advent (coming toward) when the darkness blankets the northern hemisphere, we need its nourishment, but we can’t soak it in and consider it a bad thing or a power of evil. Rev. Jane will be exploring the dark as an aspect of the earth’s wisdom and a spiritual superpower in its own right!

What to do when we can’t see the divinity in ourselves or others?

I delight in helping audience participants exercise their "gratitude muscles" at this time of Thanksgiving. Through inspiring stories to the rhythmic beat of the drum and colorful materials they are empowered to amplify positivity and use or share processes with their families and places of work.
