This Sunday, December 1st, 2024, is the first day of Advent, a four week season in the Christian calendar in which those of the Christian faith celebrate in reverence the coming of the man popularly known as Jesus Christ, an incarnate prophet whose life was reportedly replete with miracles.  Let’s dance together with the miraculous this Sunday as I take an exploratory dive into the many miracles of Jesus as chronicled in the Bible, and in keeping with the multi-faith culture of our Unity Community, also dig into other well documented miracles from around the world, such as the levitating and teleporting Yogi’s of India, and even some from my own life, including an encounter I had with a burning bush shortly after sternly issuing a challenge to God in a mom

This talk will address the wildly dueling realities we are dealing with in the U.S. political situation and culture. And then, will take that lens out to explore the many spiritual traditions that hold concepts that the world we see with our senses are “illusions.” There is a difference between illusion and unreal. I have found that being able to dance with the paradox of the real world and illusion is liberating and makes life a lot more fun. We’ll explore these deep and life-changing concepts this Sunday. We get to practice releasing stuff, people, attitudes, habits, beliefs, and identities. At the end of our physical life, we get to release our bodies. Though challenging, release is an innate power and when we remember to align with the I AM we can unleash that superpower and watch our lives transform. Rev. Zeal is one of Unity’s 12 Spiritual Powers, which also includes the powers of Love, Faith, Wisdom, etc.. Zeal can sometimes be viewed as an “add-on” but for those who may be dealing with depression zeal/enthusiasm can be a survival skill. For those who aren’t, zeal is a thrival tool.
