Facing Thirty

After several years of seeing Joe at parties but never getting to know him, we finally sat down to have a conversation. He talks about "staring down 30", which he turns in June. I learn about his struggles with addiction, the boredom of recovery, and his plans for the future. HE may be one of the most brutally honest people I've met, and I enjoy his candor immensely.

I got a chance to talk with a young local politician who is working hard to make changes here in Sullivan County. We commiserate with one another about having too many goals and no clue what to do about it.

This was a fun interview with a great man. We talk about his move from Soviet Russia to New York in the late 1970's, his artwork, and maybe a little politics. Rob gives me great advice and I may even take it!
