“Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come; ’tis grace that brought me safe thus far and grace will lead me home.” These lyrics come from one of the most famous hymns ever to be written, Amazing Grace! This phrase wasn’t written just as a theoretical idea. It was written by a man who had experienced from a young age many difficulties, struggles and temptations and indulged in many different sins. Yet he was overwhelmed by the grace of God. When we truly see Jesus’ grace we are overcome with awe! As we look at humanities suffering, Jesus’ suffering and the suffering throughout the history of the church we know that life has never been easy but it’s only through Jesus’ grace that we shall overcome.
