Predict-o-cast: The Movie Prediction Podcast

In this episode of Hot Diggity Dog, Josh and Skinner hit the randomizer and are treated to a film with bad facial hair, Ex-Lax-filled cupcakes, a man who is basically made of cardboard, insanely good fortune for a family who absolutely doesn't need it, a hamster-thief, and a pepper grown by Satan himself. 

On this week's mini episode, we try to get things back on track after last week's comedy-allergic film. We also talk a lot about feet and Skinner coins several of the grossest phrases Josh has ever heard. 

Our biggest fear is realized as we finish up our discussion on 2016's based-on-a-true-story-depressing-as-hell Cruel Summer. And since there's not much to really talk about and this film is comedy poison, we decide to talk about our own cruel summers and take a walk down memory lane. 

Summer of Summer rolls on with 2016's Cruel Summer, a movie that has some really problematic content right up front and sets the stage for an incredibly tough movie-watching experience. We also discuss the tragic origins of Old Man Wax Face and his royal family statues. 

Predict-O-Cast Jr is back! This time around, Holly and Skinner discuss the very strange and very French Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart. Holly is terrified and Skinner can't stop insisting the moon is evil. 

Our Summer of Summer rolls on, with this new mini episode where we reveal the next film we're discussing and then set up an epic battle between two classic pop bands. 

If the first ten minutes of Breaking Loose: Summer City 2 set us up for something crazy, the rest of the movie doesn't let us down. We get Viking funerals, surfboard cocaine, domestic drama, deciding whether or not to sleep with your mom's friend, surfing and an insane beach battle. Plus a man laughing uproariously at a skeleton cartoon. It's a summer extravaganza. 

Summer of Summer continues with us back down under, for the Summer City sequel, Breaking Loose. In the first ten minutes, we get an awesomely 80's "gettin' ready" montage, a bunch of middle-aged leather punks with a weird sense of honor, a drag race and an explosion. Looks like this summer is getting back on track. 

Happy Independence Day, America! Also, you're on notice for being really terrible lately. As a way to better understand American history and the significance of July 4th, we watched the absolutely-drowning-in-dog-puns children's educational short Pups of Liberty: The Dog-claration of Independence. We spend most of our time discussing puns and then try to figure out how to dogify other American political scandals/travesties. 

We roll along with The Summer of Summer, preparing ourselves to watch a sequel to a movie we've also never seen. 

We're back with part 2 of our discussion on 2010's Summertime Christmas, and this one's a massive undertaking. Elves, Santa, God, magic berries, bad kids, heavy-handed messages, this movie's got it all. This is probably the longest episode we've ever done and Skinner is angrier than he's ever been, with good reason; the politics of this movie are as messed up as can be and did nothing to instill the Christmas spirit in us (even if it is summertime). Our Summer of Summer series continues to chug along on a tiny train as we tackle yet another Christmas film: 2010's Summertime Christmas. This low-budget disaster has us asking me questions after watching its first ten minutes: Is Elwood a secret robot? What's with this newspaper opening? Hot Diggity Dog, our extremely ill-advised side show where we watch dog movies, is back! This time, we're discussing a dog movie featuring the best video game ever made, a bargain-basement afterlife, and the oldest 35-year-old. 

We reveal the next film in our Summer of Summer series and make a shocking discovery along the way. 

We're back with our reactions to the rest of 1987's A Dangerous Summer and we're sad to say we were right about a lot of things: the insurance scam, the arsonist and their connection to our hero Architect Daddy, and his weird relationship with his daughter (it seriously seems like they're dating). We also praise James Mason for at least trying and criticize the film's incredibly gratuitous nudity. 

In the first of our Summer of Summer series, we take a brisk jog through the burning hills of Australia's Blue Mountains, a week before Christmas, as Architect Daddy Tom Skerritt tries to save a giant wooden frame from burning to the ground in 1981's A Dangerous Summer. He also seems to have a very strange relationship with his daughter and, wouldn't you know it, lots of blueprints. We ponder who the arsonist is and how Skerritt is going to stop them and wonder if any Christmas miracles will occur before the film's end. Plus, we bring back Beach Cop Joe Summerman and see how he might deal with this mess. 

Skinner and Holly are back with a new episode of Predict-O-Cast Jr and they're ready for summer! This time, they delve into 2011's Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and Holly cannot stop laughing. She also extols the necessity of flatulence. 

In this mini episode, we launch our Summer of Summer series, wherein we will only watch films with "summer" in the title all summer long! In preparation for next week's film, we wonder what might lead people to engage in underground fight clubs and to wear the skin of their enemies. We also introduce a brand new character who's going to set the summer on fire: Beach Cop Joe Summerman!  

We close out "Felipe Sobreiro Presents" month with the second half of our discussion on Raw Meat. Skinner ventures down a thought-provoking path, we extol the virtues of Donald Pleasence's perfect performance, and we hear from Felipe Sobreiro (@therealsobreiro on twitter) himself!  

It's the last week of Felipe Sobreiro (@therealsobreiro) picking movies for us (for now). Will he send us out with a banger or will 1972's Raw Meat be more of a bust? So far, we're not quite sure. We've got a pervy Englishman, a porn Walmart, and an American really insisting someone must be drunk.
