  • 153 - Amy's single mum story, and the relationship with her husband that was a lie (Part 2)

    16/07/2019 Duración: 57min

In this episode, Amy shares Part 2 of her story... After a brief stint "birdnesting", Amy and her husband sold their houses and started living separately. Slowly slowly Amy started getting her life back together. She had a relatively good co-parenting relationship with her ex, and she had started dating. Then, her husband said he wanted to work things out. After deciding she couldn't live with the what-ifs, Amy decided to give it another go with her husband. Not long after that, he had moved in. A few months later, out of the blue, Amy received a message from her husband's past mistress/girlfriend on Instagram who told her to pass on to her husband to stop harassing her and to ask him about all the women. Such a blow. What she then discovered ended the relationship she had with him, and the trust in him, for good.  In this episode, Amy so openly and vulnerably shares what happened. She talks about the shame she felt about her husband having affairs and not knowing, questioning her whole relationship with him

  • 152 - Amy's single mum story, and the relationship with her husband that was a lie

    09/07/2019 Duración: 53min

Amy was with her husband (and father of her two children) for 12 years when he suddenly, and without any warning whatsoever, told her that their marriage was over. He had fallen in love with someone else. This is part 1 of a two-part series in which Amy shares her story. In it, she talks about the life she had with her husband prior to the separation and the trusting relationship she thought they had... She tells me about how they dealt with a terminal cancer diagnosis in the family, renovating the family home and moving in with her inlaws, and the beauty of hindsight. We discuss her grief, trauma, panic attacks, and how she had a breakdown and ended up in a psych ward.  After 12 years with her partner, it turned out her entire relationship had been a lie. Her husband was not the man she thought he was.  Stay tuned for next week's episode where this story is continued...  Sign up to the next FREE 30 Day Get Your Sparkle Back Challenge HERE. • 135 - How to cope, keep smiling, and stay positive as a single mum

    12/03/2019 Duración: 33min

In this week's episode, I answer the following question sent in by a listener: "Julia! Sorry for the personal message but I’m going out of my mind. My son is 5 months old, and my partner left when I was 5 months pregnant. Almost a year ago. He sees his son once a month for a couple of hours. I’m still devastated. I was diagnosed with PTSD and PND, and I am finding single parenting so overwhelming. I even feel regretful and resentful some days. I love my son, but I just want my partner to come back and share the experience with me. I find motherhood so so lonely, even with the support of my family. Please share some words of wisdom on how on earth you cope, keep smiling and stay so positive. I look at yourself and your daughter as complete inspiration. I am sick of feeling sad and grieving the loss of a “family” ideal. I pictured holidays together, days on the beach, dinner as a family... it’s all gone and I find it so daunting. Thanks for listening. Xx" Spoiler alert: I don't always have it together! But I kn
