On November 9th, 1985, the Brabant Killers struck for the last time. This attack - which was the bloodiest yet - resulted in eight people dead, seven others injured, and a criminal investigation that was plagued from the very beginning. The Brabant Killers happened to attack in the middle of a very tumultuous time for Belgium. Terrorist organizations were rising up during that time period, from different sides of the political spectrum. The Westland New Post were right-wing extremists, lead by Paul Latinus and Michel Libert... Latinus would commit suicide mysteriously in the early days of 1984, and Libert would be officially questioned by police for Brabant involvement as recently as 2014. Throughout 1982, Belgian police were concerned over a rash of strange attacks plaguing the Brussels area. All involved criminals matching the same basic descriptions, but lacked any real motive. They seemed to be the actions of a mysterious gang lashing out... but at something or someone without any real purpose. Going into 1983, these attacks would continue. Worse, they would escalate, with the gang becoming more bold and violent throughout the year. In 1982, a group of offenders began striking the Brussels area of Belgium. It began with a series of small robberies, but - by the end of the year - had progressed to full-blown murder. Though their criminal career was still in its apparent infancy, the Brabant Killers - also known as the Brabant Gang and the Gang Of Nivelles - would go on to become Belgium's most violent and mysterious criminals. In February of 1968, 25-year old Patricia Docker visited the Barrowland Ballroom on a Thursday evening, leaving her son in the care of her parents. She was estranged from her husband but still legally married, so she didn't tell anyone her apparent destination, for fear of judgment. You see, Thursday nights at the Barrowland Ballroom came with a reputation. Some of the Thursday patrons were adulterers, looking for a night of fun away from the stresses of everyday life. One killer used this reputation to his advantage. By 1997, Miguel Ricart had been a prisoner of the Spanish Civil Guard for over four years. He had been in their custody since January of 1993, awaiting trial for the murder of three teenage girls from Alcasser. Ricart would find an unlikely ally in one of the victim's parents, Fernando Garcia. It has now been weeks since the bodies of Toni Gomez Rodriguez, Desiree Hernandez Folch, and Miriam Garcia Iborra were found in the Spanish hills of La Romana. One suspect has been in custody for over a month, while the other has escaped justice... seemingly forever. Miguel Ricart confesses to the rape, torture, and murder of the three teenage victims multiple times, but his confessions always contrast in stark details. More often than not, his confessions line up with what police knew at the time, based off of the autopsies of the victims and their exhaustive investigation.But each subsequent confession painted a muddled picture: one that gives credence to Miguel Ricart's later claims that the confessions were coerced. On January 27th, 1993, the bodies of Toni Gomez Rodriguez, Desiree Hernandez Folch, and Miriam Garcia Iborra were found. The Spanish teens, from a small town named Alcasser, had gone missing in November of 1992 under mysterious circumstances. Within hours of their discovery, police had a suspect in-mind. Hours after that, they had a full detailed confession, which the suspect - Miguel Ricart - claims was coerced. On November 13th, 1992, three girls from a small Spanish town called Alcasser set off in the early evening. Their names were Toni Gomez Rodriguez, Desiree Hernandez Folch, and Miriam Garcia Iborra. They never made it to their destination - a nightclub located in a neighboring town - despite being seen just down the block. Struggling to make ends meet and provide for his family, Chase took a job at a Quik-Trip in Kennesaw, located just a mile or so away from one of Chase's friends named Brad Clement. Chase and his wife, Amanda, had been having issues in the months before Chase's disappearance. Constant financial pressure put a strain on their relationship, and Chase was spending less time with both her and their two daughters. In the days before his disappearance, he had been spending time with his mother, Stephanie Cadena. On March 27th, Amanda dropped Chase off in Kennesaw. He went to stay the night with his friend, Brad. By Brad's own recollection, Chase was looking for a drug known as roxicodone. The next day, March 28th, Chase was gone. In the early 1980s, Adelaide police were struggling to find a suspect after the bodies of five young men were found - each showing signs of sexually abuse before their murders. But they finally zeroed in on a suspect: a man named Bevan Spencer von Einem. He remains the only man convicted in the crime, but police are still convinced that he did not act alone. Their scope reached out into the associates of von Einem's that they think were involved in some way.
