The most effective way you can simplify your life is to find out who you really are and live it. But you may not know who you are because you’re caught having to pretend someone you’re not. When you know your purpose in Christ, you no longer need to pretend.

While that does help, it's more important that we prioritize the big items first, leaving less room in our capacity for all the other items that fill up our day and our minds. We get in trouble when we place our ultimate hope in things and in people here on earth. Our only ultimate hope is to live with Jesus in Heaven for eternity.

How you view your earthly father is similar to how you view your heavenly Father. None of us had a perfect father growing up. Some even had an abusive father as a child.
