Will Harris of White Oak Pastures (Bluffton, GA) has been a leader in the regenerative agriculture movement since the mid-1990s.  For a quarter-century, Harris has worked to build a farm that is a thriving, self-sustaining ecosystem, complete with processing abattoirs that gives White Oak Pastures full control over its end product.     Rice is central to the agricultural history of the Low Country and will become an increasingly important crop as the world’s population deals with climate change and rising sea levels. Some of our favorite strains, like Carolina Gold, aren’t salt tolerant enough to deal with the growing unpredictability of hurricane seasons and coastal flooding events.
