In 2018, Patrick and Mark are resolving themselves to whip their gaming lives into shape. Are they finally ready to GIT GUD? Or play games in new, unfamiliar ways? Maybe even tackle a classic game by grinding for hours and hours on end with the promise of very little reward? New year, new us!

The holidays are over, and that means Patrick and Mark are back to catch you up on all of the Nintendo news you may have missed. Plus, they’ve been playing all kinds of games over the break, including Blossom Tales, Tiny Metal, and the SNES classic Yoshi’s Island. Happy New Year!

Can you believe that this time last year we knew almost nothing about the Switch? Patrick and Mark can’t! 2017 has been an eventful year for Nintendo, so we’re going to talk about it. Sorry, we have no choice! We’re a Nintendo podcast!

With the holidays in full swing, Patrick and Mark take a break from the usual format to bring you an episode full of their favorite snow-themed video game music (that’s appeared on Nintendo consoles, of course). Patrick and Mark previously drafted all-new Super Smash Bros. rosters from characters that have never appeared in the series before. But what about all the veterans? Mario’s gotta have Cappy now, right? Link has to have Magnesis, or he’s just not Link anymore! Your hosts go through the Smash 4 roster, character by character, and discuss how they have to be changed for 2018. Oh, and let’s cut like 80% of these Fire Emblem dudes.

This week, Nintendo Cartridge Society practically becomes the Capcom Cartridge Society, what with all the Capcom-related announcements. Plus, Bayonetta 3, Floor Kids is out and is really great, and Patrick crosses enemy lines to visit PlayStation Experience. (Surprise! There were a bunch of Switch games there.)

Patrick and Mark once again enter a world of survival horror as they catch up with the two Resident Evil games they somehow missed out on: Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2. This is a series your hosts love, and a gameplay style similar to the action-packed RE4 and RE5. So do they love it?

Patrick and Mark have survived the great video game deluge of 2017, all the better to catch up on constantly-updated titles like ARMS and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
