In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick reviews three DVDs courtesy of TLA Releasing and Echo Bridge Entertainment. His lovely wife Megan joins in on the review of the German film The Wedding Party, then Desmond goes solo on She-Wolves of the Wasteland and Blood Car. Though they both had colds, James and Mike managed to record their longest episode yet! What filled the time? Well, there's talk of censorship, the Marvel Animated Universe and why Batman will never be able to cure the Joker. Of course they also covered five episode of Batman: The Animated Series. First up is the irredeemable "The Terrible Trio," which is an episode that should never have been made. In "Harlequinade" Batman and Harley Quinn join forces to prevent the Joker from detonating an atomic bomb. The Clock King and Catwoman return in "Time Out of Joint" and "Catwalk" (respectively), whilst "Bane" sees the debut of the masked assassin Bane.

In this episode Des and Mike take a look at four independent comic books slated for release this week: 2 Guns #4, First Born #3, Midknight #1 and Proof #2.

In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick shaves with a straight razor and rings one off the spittoon for a western-themed episode featuring interviews with horror legend Joe R. Lansdale (Dead in the West, Lost Echoes) and future legend James Newman (Midnight Rain, The Wicked). Plus, reviews of Lucio Fulci's Four of the Apocalypse and the Wilmer Valderrama vehicle The Dead One. For six months Des and Mike have been discussing Countdown, and it hasn't fared so well. We're now at the halfway point (30, 29, 28, 27 and 26); have their attitudes about DC's weekly series changed?

In "Sideshow" Killer Croc makes some friends, while someone attempts to murder Detective Harvey Bullock in "A Bullet for Bullock." Next Batman and the new District Attorney go on trial in the aptly named "Trial," and "Avatar" sees the return of Ra's al Ghul. Lastly, Poison Ivy supposedly gives up her life of crime in "House and Garden."

This week Des and Mike discussed five Marvel comic books, with those being Avengers: The Initiative #7, Captain Marvel #1, Ghost Rider Annual #1, Punisher War Journal #13 and X-Men: Die by the Sword #3.

The interviews this week are with Jack Ketchum (Off Season, The Girl Next Door) and Steve Vernon (Hard Roads, Haunted Harbours: Ghost Stories from Old Nova Scotia). Of the five comics Des and Mike reviewed this week (Astonishing X-Men #23, Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #33, Ms. Marvel #21, Mystic Arcana: Sister Grimm and Silver Surfer: In Thy Name #1), they greatly disagreed on two. In fact, in response to Mike's love for one of the comics, Des said, "I'm shocked this book isn't cancelled yet." Ouch!

In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick races against time and rings in novel month with interviews of Greg Lamberson (Personal Demons and Johnny Gruesome) and Keith Latch (A Ghost Story and Cemetery Things). Hear what these writers have to say about their craft, their work and tons of other good stuff like B movies and prisons! This week your friendly hosts took a break from Batman: The Animated Series (sort of). Instead of covering five episode of the show that launched the DC Animated Universe, they discussed the first (and only) DCAU theatrical release. Oh yes, it's Batman: Mask of the Phantasm!

Here we are again with five more early comic book reviews. This time Des and Mike cover Daredevil Annual #1, Iron Man #23, Mythos: Fantastic Four, Sub-Mariner #5 and Ultimate Power #8. Though they agree on most of the books, one of the issues has them at different ends of the spectrum.
