FIRST LIVE SHOW DURING COWBOYS GAME That's right, for the first time on The Stars Align we are broadcasting LIVE today at 1 PM as the Cowboys play the Atlanta Falcons. The Good: Romo/McFadden Both looked good, really good. They gave us a potential preview of what this season could look like, and it should be a pleasing thing to Cowboys fans everywhere. Romo was sharp, as usual, and McFadden showed not just blazing speed but ability to hit holes and take contact. If he stays healthy, this run game could be better than expected.  The Bad:  Does 0-3 preseason mean anything? This Cowboys team, that finished 12-4 last season, went 0-4 in last years pre-season. Despite some good plays from rookies and some flashes of potential, this team has failed to even look remotely close to ready. Should we weight the pre-season at all or is it basically practice and we should focus all attention on the Sept. 13 opener? The Ugly:  Confidence in backups? Who is the best/worst backup? They have been flat out bad all around, and the hosts debate whether or not these guys have any hope or if the starters NEED to stay healthy.  Bonus topic: Who had the better season, Dez or Odell?

DALLAS COWBOYS FOOTBALL IS BACK! Debuting at our new time this is a HUGE show despite a mild week.  Our first topic: Jerry Jones says he supports Dez's fight in training camp, saying he felt the incident was exciting, and he liked the fire. DALLAS COWBOYS FOOTBALL IS BACK   Brandon Carr hurt--needs surgery on his hand. He will be back for the season, but won't play the pre-season. However, 1st round pick Byron Jones didn't look good---he got undressed a few times by backups. Is this a sign that perhaps Jones isn't what we thought he was? Is Jones worth a starting spot? Dustin Vaughan and Jameil Showers possibly a replacement for Romo----well, Vaughan looks the most like it now. Showers is a mobile QB like Vick, but more accruate. They have been moving him around on special teams, trying to get him on the field as much as possible. Also, did Vaughan show enough to overtake Weeden as the #2? Pass Rush analysis after game---how does the front line look? It appeared that silver helmets were in the backfield A LOT thursday night, which is a great sign.  And with Tyrone Smith injured should we sit OL whole rest of pre season?

THE LAST SHOW BEFORE MEDIATION MONDAY'S BEGINS The New York Jets have got to be a cursed organization.  Geno Smith will now be out 6-10 weeks with a broken jaw suffered by, yes, another teammate. Smith was in a locker room dispute with reserve linebacker IK Enemkpali that turned violent. Enemkpali sucked punched Geno in the locker room, fracturing his jaw in two places and for all intents and purposes, ending his season. Geno is due to have surgery on his haw, and is contemplating legal action.  Steve Smith has announced that this will be his final season. The controversial but consistent reciever has been in the league for what seems like forever, the the team debates if he deserves a hall of fame spot.  TOM BRADY SETTLEMENT DAY

FOOTBALL IS BACK! Greg Hardy has been everything the Cowboys have needed him to be. Jason Witten mentioned in an interview how beneficial he has been. He has been a leader on and off the field. From  the banner to the pep talks, Hardy's work ethic is rubbing off. Despite a tough off season, it appears maybe Hardy has turned a new leaf.  Witten also claims the running game is fine, and Randle will be able to get the job done. The depth, however, is not looking good. McFadden hurt again. Dunbar unproven. Should they go get a running back? The CB depth is a question mark as well. It feels soo good to be back in football land!   Training camps are here now and the team debates which player will have the best chance to challenge last years camp MVP Dez Bryant. What player will make the roster now, and step up to the task? Bryant challenges everyone he faces and holds his entire team accountable. He wants to win now. Who else does? The team lost a big power runner in DeMarco Murray, but could they be getting another one in Stephen Jackson? Jackson may not have much left, but he made it clear he wants to end his career in Big D. This couild provide a big boost to the Dallas run game near the goal line, but is picking up Jackson really the best idea?
