Based on an amazing true story, 'Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game' was one of my favorite films from last year's festival circuit! In 1976, GQ writer Roger Sharpe, a self professed pinball fanatic, helped lift a 35-year ban on the game of pinball in the state of New York. Did you even know that pinball had been banned in major American cities? After seeing the film at the Santa Fe International Film Festival and falling in love with it I had to have Austin and Meredith on the show to talk about making it! A few weeks ago, Disney's 'Homeward Bound' celebrated its 30th Anniversary at The El Capitan Theater in Hollywood! This is a hugely nostalgic film for so many of us and I was honored to be asked by one of the film's stars, Benj Thall, to moderate the cast and crew panel before the screening! Benj is a fantastic friend and the film is just as entertaining today as I'm sure you remember it being! Joining Benj and I onstage were his on-screen family of Robert Hays, Veronica Lauren Sawyer and Kevin Chavalier. Director Duwayne Dunham and producer Jeffrey Chernov had some amazing stories to share about putting the film together. And of course, where would this movie even be without the film's animal trainer Joe Camp, joined on the panel by Tammy Maples. Dave Stevens is a legend in the comic book world. Beyond creating 'The Rocketeer', Stevens set a high mark for creator owned properties, both in terms of ideas and execution. Stevens always demanded perfection from his work and this demand often bled into his relationships with others. Now, a documentary called 'Dave Stevens: Drawn To Perfection' is being released, documenting the ins and outs of Stevens' short but extraordinary career and its influences on the industry.
