When we think of witch hunts, we pretty much think of the Salem Witch Trials, and we definitely think of them as an archaic thing of the past. But it turns out, witch hunts are still quite prevalent in today’s society, here in the U.S. and worldwide, in different forms. In part two, we skip ahead hundreds of years to modern time, sharing details about the unbelievable truth that many countries (India, Papa New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, Zambia, and more) still practice witch hunts in some form today, and how it is used as a convenient tool for scapegoating women who may be unruly and independent, question the status quo, demanding of basic rights, or simply in the way.
