Bearly On Topic: The Boston Bruins Podcast

This week we recorded one day later than normal. We're talking about the trade deadline and how recent trades might affect how the Bruins approach it. Geoff is not happy with the prospect of trading Danton Heinen. While we were recording, the Tyler Toffoli trade went down, so we discuss that as we found out more information.

This week it's VA and blast from the past, Nick, talking about Bruins games and other news. Was Lauzon's suspension warranted? Was it too many games? What's going on with Joakim Nordstrom? Nick brings his unique outlook about hockey equipment to the chat to brainstorm that. Also, we answer the question of where Zdeno Chara should spend his all-expense paid vacation from his teammates.

This week we recorded during the Super Bowl, so we're a little distracted by commercials. Overall, we're pretty happy with how the Bruins have returned from their 9 day break. We talk about David Pastrnak's turn in the ASG. How should the Bruins deal with David Backes' contract? We have an idea. Also, Geoff finally says goodbye to Brett Ritchie. This and plenty more nonsense for you!

This week with Geoff away we brought in another good hockey brain, our friend Ben, to commiserate about the Bruins losing ways, to solve for 2RW, and to talk Tuukka.

This week we state our adoration of the Bruins moms so many times. We talk about the week in games which was a much more positive week than the one before. Geoff tells about the rumors and reports about the Bruins solving for 2RW. At some point there is way too much talk about 90's rock.

The Bruins keep losing and we're pretty sure they're out to collect all the loser points. All this losing is making us grumpy enough to produce shorter podcasts in which we'd rather talk about how to make your name Latvian than talk about actual games played by the boys in Black and Gold. Still, we try to hold some optimism near to us.

This week VA, Geoff, and Tim attempt to record this episode while kinda-sorta watching the Sabres-Bruins game. We talk about the two games of the past week, David Pastrnak being voted to be an All-Star, and all sorts of injuries.

This week it's just VA and Tim reviewing the Bruins games of the week. We lament the Bruins inability to win in regulation, in overtime, and in the shootout. Why does this team hate us so much when we give them nothing but love?

This week VA, Geoff, and Tim slog through the misery that was the Bruins road trip. Was it the Bruins or the Brians? We're all sick of Brett Ritchie, we want to solve for 2RW and not have to solve for 3c again (we still don't solve either). And we talk about Tim Thomas' coming out and talking about his grueling medical situation and how he's trying to recover from post-concussion syndrome.

This week VA, Geoff, and Tim talk about whether or not the Bruins need to add physicality to their game or set a physical tone early. We talk about the Bruins games this week and how the streak had to end sometime. We also do a follow-up on coaches' behavior and talk about how we feel about Anders Bjork possibly playing his off-side.

This week, VA, Geoff, and Tim discuss the many ways the Bruins continue to win games. We might talk a little bit too much about Thanksgiving foods, especially the ones that Tuukka Rask hates. We also talk about some real concerns that have emerged in the coaching realm. No, not Bruce but rather others.

VA is trying to make "fetch" happen, just with a different word. We discuss the games of the week, including that Devils game in which Grzelcyk broke out. We also do a deep dive into injuries and what the troubles the team may have when (and in some cases, if) injured players return. Recorded on Sunday, November 24th, so we are already outdated.

This is a little bit late but better late than never, right? This week we talk about Pasta's latest hat trick and scoring. We talk about the games against the Ducks and the Bolts. We also discuss what the Bruins should do with the second line (and other lines) while David Krejci is injured.

This week VA, Geoff, and Tim discuss the opening week of the Bruins 2019-20 NHL Season. VA describes a very special event in her life. Geoff is confounded with Hockey Twitter's outrage over a stupid thing Jack Edwards said. And Time is just glad the B's are winning. Are we a little worried about the Bruins goal scoring? Maybe just a very tiny bit or maybe not at all.

We're back for season five. This episode is kind of like our training camp in which we check in, discuss news from over the summer, and make predictions for the upcoming Bruins season. We're all worried about a certain Bruins player's body part and you should be as well.

Free agency has come (and mostly gone) and we're talking about what the Bruins acquired and what they've lost. We also discuss the RFAs (Heinen, Carlo, McAvoy) and other player statuses. And we take a look at other signings around the NHL. We'll be back in September.
