Prayer is confusing. Think about it, everybody prays. Something happens and people say, I’ll pray for you or simply respond on social media with prayers. But, do we really think people are really praying or has that just become a better way to say, Dang, hate that for you?

Everybody likes to talk about money if we’re talking about how to get more but not many want to talk about how to give more. Every Christian will say they love Jesus and Jesus is Lord, but stats prove that we want Jesus to be Lord over our salvation, but not Lord over our money. What many “Christians” do with their money proves they love money more than Jesus.

This is the third parable that Jesus tells after He gives the command to watch. So basically, He’s saying, “I’m going to return, you’ll be held accountable for your life, so watch.” The most popular of those stories, and the one we are studying today is the parable of the talents.

Jesus doesn’t want us to feed our greed; He wants us to be freed from greed.

The parable of The Good Samaritan. It’s so well known that both Christians and non-Christians commonly use it as an idiom to describe anyone who performs a selfless act. Many use this parable as a poster child of social gospel/justice. Hollywood and media love to jump on the social justice bandwagons. It’s not bad to fight hunger, trafficking/poverty but, hopefully, today, you’ll see that Gospel driven mercy is totally different. Kingdom life is motivated by the gospel not guilt.

These parables are teaching us the value of the kingdom of God but they are also meant as a warning to us.

Many Christians question their salvation because they continue to commit the same sins. But, only people who've been redeemed are truly burdened by their sin. If not, you don’t care, and if you don’t care, you’re not redeemed.

When something is lost, that becomes the focus, not the things that are found. It’s about the one.

The law isn't sin, but it reveals our sin and inability to do anything about it. God gave the law to convict us of sin and bring us to the end of ourselves so we'd run to Christ for salvation. He didn't give us the law to make us good, but to show us we can't be good without God.

When you become a Christian, you enter into a covenant relationship with Jesus. That changes everything. Grace changes everything.

God's commands are good. The enemy makes them look binding and boring like they're cramping your style. But, God's commands are always for our good and His glory.

Knowing doctrine and theology is vital to knowing who you are so you can be who you are. Many believers continue to struggle with the same sins over and over, year after year because they don’t KNOW who they are. Christian living is dependant upon Christian learning. Duty follows doctrine. If you’re spiritually ignorant, you’re going to be spiritually impotent.
