In other words, to be a Christian is to be committed to a life of prayer. To be called a church is to be ahouse of prayer of all nations.It is my prayer that each of us would resolve to build our prayer lives. This is the gateway to experiencing thesupernatural power of God. .Some additional ways by which we can build a powerful and effective prayer life are as follows:1. Desire to build your prayer life - Lk. 11:1; Rom. 10:1; Dan.1:8.This is perhaps where building a powerful and effective prayer life starts. Nobody, not even God, willforce you to pray. Say HiSoaring like EaglesWhen I look at this topic it gives me trouble, because it has to go to the foundation of our faith. Bible says in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy. Isiah 40:28-....2 things I want you to pay attention to, 1st thing is that the God you serve does not fade.God is saying that He is constant, consistent, there is no variableness in Him, He is saying you can trust Him. God can be trusted, He is stable, He is unchanging, He isn't a politician, you can rest on Him, except you know that your christian life is shaky, having one leg in the church and the other leg somewhere else. God stands by His words, He said His word shall not come back to me void, God is consistent.

Say HiThe Deacon’s ministry is one of God’s gifts to the body of Christ. It was necessitated by the rapid growth of the early church and its attendant challenges. In order to deal with the protest from the Grecian Jews over the neglect of their widows in the church welfare program, the Lord led the Apostles to direct the congregation to choose seven men who could be trusted with the business of serving tables, and thereby deal with the emerging crisis. The result of this decision was positive for the early church. The scripture attest to this in Acts 6:7Unfortunately, the trajectory of the Diaconate ministry in some contemporary churches is a complete deviation. Deaconship has been more of a curse in some churches than a blessing. This however should not be so for any reason. It is therefore important that we re-discover God’s purpose for the Deacon’s Ministry. This is reflected in some of our old bulletins that show a hand holding a torch, with a caption at the top of the cover page that reads: “The LIGHT of the world is JESUS, Come to the LIGHT at IKOYI BAPTIST CHURCH.” We, however, neither have a record of how they came about this revelation nor the particular scripture that can be referred to as their bearing. The recent past and present generation took this matter further by adopting a logo with light. It is now a standard practice that all IBC daughter churches bear names that have light as either a prefix or suffix. While we celebrate the efforts, labors and the grace of God on our forefathers, necessity is however laid on the present generation of IBC Pastors and members to complete what they started.
