This week on The Comics Podcast we travel back to the simpler time of 2013 to discuss Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Francesco Francavilla's Afterlife With Archie--in many ways the precursor to everyone's new favorite TV show, Riverdale. Before that, it's updates on Chad's house, the weather (yes we're boring don't rub it in) and saying farewell to everyone's old favorite TV show, The Clone Wars.

It's the Comics Podcast 200th episode extravaganza and we feel like celebrating. Not only do the gang talk about the standard Star Wars, 9/11 and gardening fun but they also take a deep dive into Dark Horses' 1988 Aliens Comic. All that and the announcment that Emily is now an official member of the show as we enter our second century on the air. Thank you to all our listeners, we love you all! This week the jig is up! Way up in fact as Jean-luc and Alex talk about Darkseid War and Geoff Johns'Aquaman. Darkseid War is the big finale to the New 52, but does it impress or get dragged down under its own ambition? Oh also there's Aquaman and fish which is fun but no fish sticks which isn't fun. I am very happy that you are reading this description but please go to bed it's late.

On this week, Emily talks about how one orders weed during these trying times of solitude, Alex and Chad make animal noises, and Jean-luc puts up with our garbage. After that it's Beastars! Y'all want to talk some manga? Well to bad!

Bzz Bzz Bzz the band is back and beefier than before. Jean-Luc brings up a book he bought and Chad bullies his butt. Emily and Alex are here too and they are as interesting as ever, although don't tell them that because they might be insulted/let it go to their heads. As the title suggests, Wild Blue Yonder is the Spotlight book of the week and it comes from IDW Publishing. It's a high-paced steampunk adventure, neatly tucked away in a six issue miniseries. Depending on who you believe it's a fun read or incomprehensible gargbage. You decide! Also, stay safe and paint miniatures/eat Taco Bell.

Hello and welcome to week two of no new comics, and week one of us having a plan to deal with our new reality! Quarantine: Day ? Urge to create spinoff podcast episodes growing. Resistance is futile. Engage New 52 Retrospective. Back in 2011, DC Comics relaunched their entire line of comics for the first time in their 75+ year history. This relaunch made a number of lasting changes to the universe and it was also the defining event that got Alex and Jean-Luc into reading comics. And so together, they are embarking on a special series of episodes, looking back on the 2011 reboot. Are the highs as high as they remember? Emily returns this week so Chad, Jean-luc, and Alex can talk to an actual woman that isn't related to them. Also, we hit up a lot of comic book stuff despite almost no comics coming out. Batman? Of course. But then it's the industry at large, comic book stores, publishing, diamond, and some other bits and pieces. Saga. Monstress. Very fun. Jean-luc got scared by ghosts in Egypt once. This week on the Comics Podcast some of the gang are suffering from quarantine brain. But fear not! Emily's back as a guest and she brings with ther stories about the new Netflix series Tiger King, which is pretty bonkers. Chad played a game where you can be an alcoholic priest with a gun and that's pretty neart, and everyone is reading Animorphs. Oh and there were some comics too! Namely Kill Lock, Sonic the Hedgehog, Crowded, On the Stump and Old Guard. Stay safe, y'all and remember to always speed racer.

This week, the world is ending thanks to disease! Guess what we talk about? Disease! Chad also tries some acrylic painting, Jean-luc flies across the world, and Alex buys Star Wars miniatures to paint. This week Chad, Jean-Luc and Alex are joined by Emily for a rowdy discussion about the Animorphs series. Somehow they didn't discuss what Animorphing power they would want if given the choice but there's alwasy next time. They also find time to talk about comics starting with the letter 'S' including Stealth, Snotgirl, Star Wars: Kylo Ren, Star Wars: Darth Vader and Saga. Oh and we all love you very much < 3

Come one, come all, as Chad talks about a new concert experience that involved the devil's bluegrass, which is not a genre of music! After that, Chad, Jean-luc, and Alex talk about fishing, Hammilton, some other stupid stuff, and then a boatload of comic books! It's Wonder Woman Dead Earth, Farmhand, Strange Adventure, Saga, Mercy, X-Men vs DC whatever I don't remember, Lois Lane I think, Sonic a bit, probably Star Wars. I just scrubbed through and I honestly can't remember. There was an IDW book too!

This week Chad is back and about to celebrate a birthday! Wait... You missed his birthday? Shoot! Well it has passed now so your best bet is to say nothing or get him a random gift. I'd reccomend Avengers vs. Xmen Omnibus Companion. I hear they're practically giving that one away. Also, in podcast related news, the gang talked about how to give a proper fatherly handshake and why you should always/never use skype chat as a wingman.

Chad's away again this week to work on house stuff, but we're sure he can trust his cohosts to not do something stupid like talk about abortion for 20 minutes, right? Right? What do you mean Emily is here encouraging this? :[ Expect movies, comic books, politics, and other nonsense. I'm sorry.

This week the Comics Podcast's one and only guest returns for her 4th (5th, if you count the Cats show) appearance--because who wouldn't want to talk about the animated hedgehog movie with their online friends for 20 minutes? After that the quartet chats Birds of Prey, Gravity Calls, a couple new comics, and rank their top five Lego sets, anime, and Alien/Predator movies. A couple comics even get discussed towards the end but mostly it's just four friends being buds online :)

This week is a sleepy episode but in the same way that sleepovers are sleepy so that's fun. Chad is hosting a game jam at his place but will his old cat let him sleep? Jean-Luc is behind on Riverdale but will he still find a way to talk about Star Wars? Alex's mic is clippy but will it piss future Alex off when he has to edit the podcast? The answers to all these questions and more plus the new issues of Redneck, Suicide Squad and the bad Image book! Excelsior!

This week the whole gang is here and they're swiping right on some interesting topics. Jean-Luc meets a satanist, Chad stakes a claim to the title of Jeff Lemire, and Alex has too much fun editing this show. They also talk about some comics including Batman #87, Wonder Woman #750, Guardians Of The Galaxy #1, Family Tree #3, Middlewest #14, and The Old Guard: Force Multiplied #2. This week Jean-Luc and Chad run a duo show as Alex deals with the wonders of internet issues. They talk about Chad's upcoming book, Stormbreather, revisiting the Animorphs series, as well as the intricasies of modern day discourse. They also find time to talk about three whole comics, with the only good one from DC Comics. What a strange world we live in.
