Jack Hussey and Raj Bains are the voices of Rule The Roost podcast. They fret about Tottenham, they interview opposition guests, and they talk about TV. COYS.

Episodios

  • Please Don't Go, Hugo

    02/04/2014 Duración: 01h19min

Liverpool discussed, odd Jack inspired unplanned book club mentioned and Luis Suarez not called a racist, so we'll do that here instead. Tunnel slouching, Vertonghen and Lloris leaving, Barça ban effects on Tottenham all looked at also. Sunderland soon, so we had Gareth from Wise Men Say back on, who given where his club are and how they're playing, was probably more downcast and depressed then we are, which is really fucking saying something. To end, a Levy voice is performed in famous YouTube personality fashion, and Bains questions whether or not the pod is even worth doing for the rest of this shambolic season. • (Jorge) Jesus Christ

    27/03/2014 Duración: 01h14min

Benfica away is discussed and the comeback against Southampton analysed. Jack has a rant that starts off supporting Sherwood, but seems to call for his head by the end of it. He's a bit undecided. Liverpool fans are on again and Bains makes things awkward in record time. He literally has no regrets. Things, as they seem to have been more and more recently, get a bit depressing towards the end. We decide to remedy it by scrapping the usual ending in favour of a performance reading of an extract from a newly released autobiography...and it might just be the best thing we've ever done. • Spaghetti Monster

    17/03/2014 Duración: 01h24min

Benfica and Arsenal at home are discussed with all of the passion of a dead green eared spaghetti monster. Southampton is previewed with Steve Grant of The Saints Web and neither of us think we're going to win. Neither does Steve. Alfredo is back to talk Benfica, lovely and gracious as ever he was, also giving Raj chance to play mind games by bringing up the curse of Béla Guttmann and Jack spared us a repeat of the pigeon Portuguese. We keep losing and we've got a gilet wearing gooner as our manager, what the fuck do you expect us to have to say? • Theo Walcott Cries When He Cums

    13/03/2014 Duración: 01h58min

This episode of Rule The Roost is dedicated to the memory of Darren Alexander, who was the Joint-Chairman of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust. Sadly, he passed away suddenly last week. Our best wishes and thoughts are with his loved ones at this time. Chelsea is discussed, Sherwood is evaluated, tears are shed and group hugs had yet again. Benfica at home is previewed with our first ever European guest. Look at us going all continental. Jack speaks bad portuguese, who knew? Arsenal at the Lane means gooners on our podcast. We talk about both clubs. We talk about each other. Raj says that Theo Walcott cries when he cums. North London is ours. Come on you Spurs. • Jermaine Jenas: Girlfriend Stealer

    04/03/2014 Duración: 01h52min

Dnipro comeback, Cardiff win, Soldado goal - all summed up in the most Rule The Roost fashion possible. We then talked Chelsea with Joe and Freddie, who are both fans of that particular club. We talked about their players, manager and likelihood to win the league. We didn't question their morals as much though, sadly. Freddie gave us a painful story about Jermaine Jenas stealing his university girlfriend with 50" televisions and we mention a manager of a certain formerly Woolwich based club in the same sentence as Operation Yew Tree more times than is advisable. We had a breakdown about modern football to ourselves, discussed the Karl Pilkington iTunes review, talked about Jack's 30th birthday and the message he left on Raj's answerphone at 3am one morning pretending to be irate Northerner 'Barry' - althewhile forgetting about the miracle of caller ID. Long and enjoyable this (that's what she said). Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/ruletheroost.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and op

  • Blue Bird, Red Shirt

    25/02/2014 Duración: 01h40min

Instead of talking about losing to Dnipro and Norwich properly, Jack sang a song and Raj had a meltdown about people running around in the woods on The Walking Dead. No, really. We regrouped and actually had a decent discussion about the games, if you were maybe worried, but we'd rather have found a corner to gently sob and rock in. Joined by two Cardiff fans before this weekends game, we thanked them for Gareth Bale and checked in on Steven Caulker before getting all Paxman about their red shirts and mental owner. Many thanks to Joel and Steve for putting up with us questioning their morals. All aboard the banter bus...apparently. • Let's Be Havin' You

    18/02/2014 Duración: 01h08min

Laughing at Newcastle, laughing with Lego and coming at you with brand spanking new recording software, Rule The Roost has never been better*. Most unlike our guests this week, who both support Norwich. Fears of relegation, wanting to sack their manager and no real hope going in to a home game against us, they really put a perspective on how good we've got it. *Please note: Rule The Roost may have been better at some point in the past. • Fake Taxi

    10/02/2014 Duración: 01h26min

Somehow, without us knowing how, we beat Everton. We do our best to make sense of it alongside Chris 'WindyCOYS' Miller, who made a lifelong dream come true by appearing on the show, apparently. Looking forward to Newcastle, Taylor of the Taylor And Besty podcast was back, this time bringing along Besty for the ride. We discussed our managers, our players and the game ahead...for some of the time. Other times we bonded over a mutual admiration for the hilarity of Fake Taxi on PornHub - under 18s need not google. Seriously. Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/ruletheroost.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • Steven Pienaar Derby

    06/02/2014 Duración: 01h08min

We didn’t record a Hull podcast, mainly because we didn’t want to. We’re not even sorry, to be honest. We’re back now though, brushing over two bad results in record time, literally doing our best not to delve in to the games past reading the scores out. Joined again by friends of the show and our favourite Everton fans going, Si and Bally from the NSNO Podcast are back on the line helping us discuss everything we possibly can, apart from the football. The usual tactical nonsense and higher-brow discussion wasn’t even attempted, as topics ranged from the sublime to the salacious. Expect in-jokes from the previous show and plenty of what ‘lads’ would call ‘banter’. Jack has a new tehTrunk video out, so watch it on YouTube. We also discovered a new sound effect while editing that we couldn’t help but play with, so don’t be surprised when you hear a rooster crowing during intervals. • Financial Doping FC

    23/01/2014 Duración: 01h41min

With the Welsh conquered for a second time away this season, another away win is up for discussion in the shape of Swansea City. Much more pressingly though, with this being our 26th episode of the podcast, we took special time to discuss the legend that is Ledley King, and come close to tears as we remember the player that was and the man that is. Manchester City come to Tottenham next, and with that we welcomed back Rob from TypicalCity with open arms, this time accompanied by his mate and fellow blogger Alex, who evened up the numbers. Looking through their Football Manager squad and season, we did our best not to hang up as we went over the 6-0 pasting away from earlier on in the season, while reassessing previous conversations and opinions held about both clubs managers, players and chances this season. • Bentaleb: Algerian Zidane

    15/01/2014 Duración: 01h30min

Another win under Tim Sherwood to discuss, the lads look back to the Palace game, with special attention paid to poor old Jason Puncheon. Also discussed was Lewis Holtby's future, Nabil Bentaleb being the second coming and the possible passing of Capoue to Napoli. Then joined by Matt from Lost Boyos, this weekends game was firmly on the agenda. We talked Laudrup, Martinez and Rodgers, as well as players such as Bony, Caulker, Sigurdsson and Michu. Not to mention Gareth Bale's enormous, talent. I wouldn't listen if I was a Cardiff fan, we weren't very nice. • Two Thousand And Fourteen

    08/01/2014 Duración: 01h17min

Back after a prolonged break over Christmas and New Year, the good ship Rule The Roost rides again in to 2014, discussing everything we've missed during the holidays. Looking forward to the home game against Crystal Palace, we have Chris and Albert from Holmesdale Radio on to discuss the game and sending each other's mothers raunchy pictures of ourselves. Warning: This show includes and accidental plug of John Bostock's short lived gospel rap music career. It's not our fault if you're stupid enough to go and listen to it. • ...Tim...Sherwood...?

    17/12/2013 Duración: 01h19min

In our second episode in as many days, and quite possibly, although not entirely confirmed, last before the New Year, we responded to some Redknapp talk from feedback received regarding the Villas-Boas special. We also had a word on Sherwood and his first public interview since the announcement was made yesterday. There was also a short preview of West-Ham in the cup. Moving back to some form of Rule The Roost normality though, we spoke to Southampton fan and owner of the SaintsWeb, Steve Grant. Brushing off any and all jealousy toward their flourishing season and apparent stability, we asked about their youth system, Marcelo Bielsa inspired coach and how scared they were of us now given the circumstances. We bottled asking which players wives Alan Pardew *allegedly* slept with though, unfortunately. • Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas

    16/12/2013 Duración: 01h01min

A few hasty text messages later, it was decided that André Villas-Boas deserved his own dedicated show. After a season and a quarter at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur, the undeniably handsome manager was given his marching orders, leaving the majority of Spurs fans unsure what to make of it. In a roundtable of distinctly down and baffled fans, ESPN and Bleacher Report writer Dan Fitch and voice of the people Danny McAvoy joined hosts Jack and Raj to try and make sense of the days events. Waving a teary goodbye and evaluating his tenure at the club, as well as assessing the rumoured replacements, this one is for you, Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas. • Brenton Rodgers

    11/12/2013 Duración: 01h09min

Back in the hosting chair, Jack Hussey rejoined Raj Bains on this weeks show, making sure the audio equivalent of Ledley King (Bains) and Michael Dawson (Hussey) were back together again. They started by celebrating a good week for the club and three points against Sunderland, before turning their attention to Anji on Thursday and Liverpool on Sunday. With nobody in Dagestan willing to talk to us - we presume - we skipped ahead to Liverpool and spoke to Social Media godzilla Michael Sinnerton, who currently helps control Nike's online presence. We asked about the in form striker currently injured and the inform striker on loan from The Klan, as well as discussing a few pearls of wisdom from real life comic creation Brenton Rodgers. • Yorkshire Host

    05/12/2013 Duración: 56min

Stepping in to the hosting chair in the absence of Tottenham's Keith Chegwin, Raj and the SpursStatMan himself Jack look back on the Fulham game and make sure to point out that they're 100% not the same person with some form of mental illness. Joined by Sunderland fan Gareth, of Wise Men Say Podcast, we preview the upcoming game at the Stadium Of Light and find out more about the Premier League's current soap opera side. New manager, new players, new internal structure, new dawn? We find out just how seriously we should be taking The Black Cats and former Tottenham favourite Gus Poyet. • Tottenham Rejects

    02/12/2013 Duración: 01h10min

Kicking off a double-bill of episodes this week as we do our best to combat the Premier League fixture congestion, we try and put to bed the Manchester United result as emphatically as André Villas-Boas did the press agenda against him, which was also discussed. Russ Goldman from Cottage Talk Podcast was our Fulham fan of choice to join us as we collectively conducted a candle lit vigil for the legendary Martin Jol after his recent sacking, although Fulham actually had the good grace to wait until the match had finished. Also on the agenda was their new boss René Meulensteen and reports on Tottenham rejects Berbatov, Parker, Bent and Taarabt. • Foetal Position

    29/11/2013 Duración: 01h48min

Huddled in a corner together crying and shaking we do our best to contextualise what losing 6-0 away to Manchester City really means, and how it changes things at the club, if at all. We also mention the victory away at Tromsø, confirming that we've comprehensively won our group in the Europa League. Dale O'Donnell from Stretty News is our Manchester United guest this week, and Jack and Raj do their best to sound up for another stern test in the league. What matters more, the result or the performance? And would and should a loss be the end of the road for Villas-Boas? Also looking at Sir Alex, David Gill, and summer rumours at United in depth, we prioritised collectively rating just how attractive David Moyes' daughter really is above all else. • Richer Than God

    20/11/2013 Duración: 01h33min

Putting the International break behind us and welcoming back club football with open arms, we turned our attention very quickly to the upcoming game away at the Etihad. Before that though, congratulations were in order for France captain Hugo Lloris, and we lent a shoulder to cry on for Sigurðsson, Chiricheș and the injured Christian Eriksen. Robert Pollard of TypicalCity fame was our guest as we got back in to the real groove of the show and discussed our opponents, taking special time out to allow him to profess his undying love for one Ledley King. With hosts Jack and Raj playing their usual good cop, bad cop roles, Mr Hussey compared a friendly chat about City in general, while Bains interrogated Rob on the legitimacy of Manchester City and the lack of morality required to support such a questionable entity. • Another International Break

    13/11/2013 Duración: 01h14min

Yet another International Break, yet another disappointing result leading in to it. Discussing what went wrong, and what could have gone better against Newcastle was first on the agenda as Tottenham's answer to Gervais and Merchant invited on two fellow Spurs fans on to the pod. Ben McAleer of WhoScored.com and Abbi Summers of Fanzone were on board a much more introverted episode as we discussed the talking points from inside the club at a much greater length and detail than usual, and answered a number of burning questions from the listeners.
