I now go into the individual laws listed in Exodus 21:12-17, beginning with the law against murder. What makes murder so evil? Towards the end I talk some about how we are all guilty of some form of this sin and need to repent and do better.

This lesson wraps up the series within the series on Capital Punishment. I talk about the idea that some laws are only for Israel or those who have joined to the Covenant, while other laws are earth-wide. It might seem like a strange concept at first, but take an attentive listen and consider all the Scriptures given. I do conclude that laws against murder, adultery, rape, and kidnapping should be enforced by all governments of the world, and punished by death.

This lesson continues to pull from the base text in our Torah study of Exodus 21:12-17, but compares it with Yeshua’s encounter with the adulteress in John 8:2-11. Was Yeshua violating the law of Moshe? Was he teaching us a new and better way?

This lesson covers what a Sabbath day’s journey is, an introductory to the 11 apostles of Yeshua (left at this time), and a balanced approach on Mary (Miriam) the mother of the Master. There is also a practical aspect on unified prayer that you don’t want to miss.

We now move into the next section of law (in Exodus 21) which covers five sins which are also crimes, capital crimes. Yahweh’s system of government calls for the death penalty on such criminals. This lesson is an overview and explanation of the death penalty.

This is the final lesson in this current string of lessons about slavery laws in Scripture. There is so much we learn about in particular and in general principle in Exodus 21:1-11, but because too many people give a knee-jerk reaction to the Bible’s endorsement of slavery (proper) little to no diligent attention is every given to this section. Many scholars have worked through it, but few church-men give it the time of day. Listen to learn of several points we can learn about life by studying Exodus 21:1-11.

What was the last thing Yeshua told his disciples before he left this earth? This lesson centers in on how Yeshua being taken away from this earth (ascending into heaven) was unique yet at the same time a common theme from the Hebrew Bible. We can be assured that just as Yeshua physically left this earth, Yeshua will physically return to this earth.

This lesson delves into further proofs that the daughter sold into another family as an “amah” (maidservant, servant-girl), is sold for the purpose of becoming a prominent wife in the new family. I cover the proper treatment of a daughter, the proper treatment of a wife, and the permission in Hebrew Scripture for a man to take on an additional, second wife.

This is one of those texts that makes the hair stand up on the back of modern culture’s neck. The problem is, people (both secular and churched) have only heard one line, out of context, from Exodus 21:7, and then go right to arguing against the law of Yahweh in some way. This lesson aims to transport our minds back to ancient near-eastern culture and the context of the Hebrew Bible, and see just how perfect Yahweh’s law continues to be. It may surprise you to hear about a modern parallel of sorts to this law. If you aren’t afraid to learn, take a listen.

Part 2 in the Acts series. In this lesson brother TJ discusses some chronology between Luke 24 and Acts 1, what it meant for the apostles to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, the kingdom being restored to Israel, a rightful perspective on eschatology, and what it meant to be a witness of Yeshua to the ends of the earth. It's packed with good information. I'd encourage you to listen to it at least twice.

Among the Hebrews a welfare system was set up so that someone poor, debt-ridden, or needing to pay restitution was able to become a servant to another, wealthy Hebrew. Sometimes this was even done for life.

When I tell some Christians that pants are not a man's garment they object by pointing to the five uses of the word "breeches" in the KJV. Is this a good argument? I also cover different contexts of nakedness in Scripture, as well as end with some practical tips and encouragement in modest dress.

When we talk about modesty, pants and dresses always come up in the conversation. It's generally thought that pants are a man's clothing and dresses are a woman's. Why do we think this? Do we get this from the Bible? In this lesson I build a little more on Genesis 3:21, answer a few objections I've heard, and then move into exegeting Deuteronomy 22:5 to the best of my ability.

After giving the instructions about altars and sacrifices, Yahweh makes it clear that he doesn't want any public nakedness or lewdness going on. Modesty in dress is something that should be important for the people of Yahweh, and finds its foundation in the very first book of the Bible. I also go over some of the wrong ways modesty has been taught in fundamental, Christian churches.

In this conclusion to the series through Isaiah 53, brother TJ touches on several points, including one technical difference between the Hebrew Bible and Greek Septuagint. He also looks at what seed the Servant would see, who is the many in verse 12, and how Yeshua is our mediator.
