Three In The Pink

It is awards season folks, so the gals have taken it upon themselves to review two hyped hits: Malcom & Marie and Promising Young Woman. They quickly descend into listing everything wrong with both films and as such this episode features many many spoilers for both films!

The gals are joined by Glasgow legend Lauren Crilly for the first instalment of this double episode! In part 1 Apsi talks about her many varying experiences dating as a sex worker. In the aftermath of the horrific, racist massacre at a Christchurch mosque, the lads discuss the UK's media response and its refusal to accept its complicity in the rising expressions of fascism.

The lassies discuss 'Surviving R. Kelly', the recent Lifetime docuseries detailing the allegations by multiple women of abuse at the hands of R. Kelly.

The lassies talk about the early acquittal of Cyntoia Brown who was 15 years into a life sentence for the murder and robbery of a man who assaulted her in his home. Her background as a victim of sex trafficking and childhood abuse inspired a broad social media campaign for her early release which will also be looked at in the episode.

The lassies are BACK FROM THEIR SELF IMPOSED SABBATICAL and diving right back into a meaty discussion of the various sex work related news stories of the past few weeks, including a new study showing the correlation between sex work criminalisation and violence, and incel attempts to out sex workers. The gals discuss the latest developments in the Home Office's handling of attempts by members of the Windrush generation to apply for British citizenship. They also discuss Phoebe Waller-Bridge's acclaimed new spy-thriller 'Killing Eve' and its surrounding media response.

The lads discuss the imminent strikes by home care workers after failed equal pay negotiations with Glasgow City Council. They then go onto discussing the real news of Stormy Daniels' new 'tell-all' book and what it has to tell us about male cleanliness, maybe.

Most importantly though, there is much discussion of Love Island and Jordan Pickford's (Thiccford)ass.

It's just Apsi and Roma this week lads but fear not because there is unstoppable cold hard coverage of the recent (although not the first by far) revelations of MI5 complicity in torture and the strikes by workers at McDonald's.

Jemma abandons the lassies this week but being the troopers they are Apsi and Roma plough on with what can only be described as unwavering courage. Lush's #SpyCops campaign is discussed firstly followed by a deep dark review of Kanye West's new album 'ye'.
