  • Former IDF spokesman outlines steps needed after killing of aid workers

    03/04/2024 Duración: 07min

IDF reserve Lt.-Colonel Jonathan Conricus, a senior fellow at the FDD, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and former international spokesperson for the IDF, said the dichotomy of the tragic, mistaken killing of the aid workers in Gaza juxtaposed with a highly accurate strike against top Iranian generals in Damascus, according to foreign reports, was a challenge for the image of the IDF. He said that the IDF’s acceptance of responsibility for the killing of the aid workers in Gaza needed to be followed up with a transparent inquiry and also possibly accountability. But, he told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan, he did not believe it could torpedo Israel’s war against Hamas. (Ismael Abu Dayyah/AP) See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Joel Roskin, a professor at the department of environment, sustainability and planning at Bar Ilan University, has proposed turning northern Sinai into at least a place on earth the Gazans could settle, even temporarily, as it is an integral part of the Levant with ample water sources and extensive infrastructure already laid by the Egyptians. 26/03/2024 Duración: 08min

The cabinet vote  on the new military draft bill , scheduled to take place on Tuesday, has been postponed because ministers failed to agree on an acceptable compromise. No new date has been set for a cabinet discussion. Before the postponement , Prime Minister Netanyahu assured the members of his own party who are opposed to the bill that its wording would be changed before being put to a Knesset vote.  Professor Dan Ben David is the  president and founder of the Shoresh Institution  for Socioeconomic Research and an economist at Tel Aviv university. He told KAN's Mark Weiss that the controversy over the age of ultra-orthodox exemption from military service misses the point and the problems of the Haredi community go much deeper.
