What is emotional glue - It’s understanding that humans are wired to work harder , be more creative and are more likely to be more productive when they feel they have a true bond, respect , connection and love for those they work with and for - it’s taking your time to get to know who your working with or for or leading at a very deep personal level - it’s be excited about working hard to understand there personal context and have empathy for that context thus your reactions and experiences with that person is based off of that context

This is why I’m such a huge fan of IDP planning and connecting your next 3 progressive promotions or career pathing moves to the work you do on a daily basis. If you show someone where they want and can be , what they need to do to get there , and guide them along the way they will have higher motivation along the way!
