In this session, Edmunds discusses how they create workflows to manage their regulated workloads with Amazon Macie, a newly-released security and compliance management service that leverages machine learning to classify your sensitive data and business-critical information. Amazon Macie uses Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) to identify and alert potential misuse of intellectual property. They do a deep dive into machine learning within the security ecosystem.

If left unmitigated, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks have the potential to harm application availability or impair application performance. DDoS attacks can also act as a smoke screen for intrusion attempts or as a harbinger for attacks against non-cloud infrastructure. Accordingly, it's crucial that developers architect for DDoS resiliency and maintain robust operational capabilities that allow for rapid detection and engagement during high-severity events. Amazon Transcribe is an automatic speech recognition (ASR) service that makes it easy for developers to add speech to text capability to their applications. The ASR service can be used across a breadth of industries. For example, customer contact centers can convert call recordings into text for further analysis of what drives positive outcomes; media content producers can automate subtitling workflows for greater reach, and marketers and advertisers can enhance content discovery and display more targeted advertising based on the extracted metadata.

The Open Guide to AWS is an open source writing project, which over the past year has become one of the most popular AWS resources on the web. It's both a written resource on GitHub, with over 100 contributors, and a large Slack group. Each has become a forum for trading practical knowledge not covered in standard documentation. In this session, we talk about the Guide and how it started, share lessons on seeding initial content, the editorial process, and how to foster a healthy extended community and encourage social engagement. In this session, Verizon and Stelligent demonstrate techniques and approaches on how to validate your security infrastructure during the development process through Continuous Security, and keep it that way through AWS Lambda auto-remediation.
