Episode 048 - Bill Kraus has 27 years with East Metro (CO) Fire Rescue and currently holds the rank of Battalion Chief. He rose through the ranks of Firefighter, Paramedic, Lieutenant, and Captain, holding spots on engine and truck companies, the Training Division, as well as HazMat and Technical Rescue Teams. He will be instructing with Bob Pressler and Jim McCormack in September at the Mile High Fire Conference.We discuss his travels to Delaware where he volunteers to ride backwards, and how he keeps his passion for the fire service as a Chief. We also talk about leading up and down, addressing the minimum standard firefighter, and the value of aggressive fire attack coupled with vertical ventilation.
