Book Toasting

We go through the first events of Octavia Butler's novel "Parable of the Sower". I'm loving it so far, but TW: mentions of rape, murder, and drug use.  I'm trying to do it less chronologically so that I can jump around and go on tangents, but I'm worried I may have been too loose and was all over the place. What do y'all think?
