  • S2:E56; Feeling "Squirrely" as Your Sober Anniversary Approaches

    30/07/2021 Duración: 28min

A month before I celebrated 1 year sober, I started to feel very strange. My emotions were all over the place, I was moody, irritable and felt confused by this. Someone told me that this was a normal feeling before a sober anniversary, especially the first one. I discuss why that is the case and how now, as I approach 9 years sober on August 20th, my feelings about that has changed and why.  Please reach out. I'm here to help. • S2;E52: Daniele: Newly sober; newly diagnosed Autistic Son

    08/05/2021 Duración: 55min

Daniele, my dear friend from IG account @lifeonthefoxstrum, got sober when a friend voiced concerns about her drinking. Since that day, she has not looked back and I have had the pleasure of becoming close friends with her myself! Daniele and I met because she listened to an episode I was in on podcast called Adventures In Autism with Megan Carranza. I spoke mostly about being an autism mom but I briefly mentioned at the end of the episode how grateful I was to have gotten sober as it made me a more present mother. Daniele identified and then joined a zoom group I started that meets every Tuesday called Sober Autism Parent Community and you can find out more about this unique group on Instagram. On this episode Daniele shares about how getting sober has changed her life in many positive ways and how she is so grateful she can be a more present mom to her 3 year old son Xander, who is on the Autism Spectrum.   --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sobergratitudes/message

    06/05/2021 Duración: 20min

When I bring things out into the light, it takes away it's power over me.  An episode about mental health. Honesty with those who I love and love me about the times when Depression breaks through my medications. Offering you, my listeners, awareness of my own mental condition and allowing myself to ride through it with out shame or judgement; to take it easy and be gentle with myself when it shows up... all of this helps for an easier "go" the next time Depression shows up.  Being sober makes dealing with my mental health WAY easier! Another reason for being grateful for my sobriety.  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sobergratitudes/message
