Zaneta Adams is a lawyer and the Director of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. As director, Adams oversees the agency, which builds and sustains military readiness, in addition to caring and advocating for veterans. In this episode, Adams talks about her time serving in the U.S. Army, National Guard and Reserve; her work for women injured in combat; the current goals and resources of the agency; the Governor’s Challenge to prevent suicide among military members, veterans and their families; and, how she and others can be positive and stay active during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  Sen. Rachael Eubanks is the treasurer for the State of Michigan. Jey’nce Poindexter is an activist, consultant and voice for people who are historically dismissed and undervalued. She works to advance a better quality of life and inclusion for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, especially for trans women of color. In this episode, Poindexter discusses equality, acceptance, discrimination, religion, COVID-19 and the work that needs to be done to fix the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act. Sen.
