  • West Coast Knicks - Episode 24 - Playoffs - So Far, So Great

    24/04/2013 Duración: 19min

Wow, what a great start to the playoff, two games against the hated Celtics and two pretty solid wins. Ugly games, but wins are wins, especially in the playoffs. Melo is proving he's obviously the best player, JR Smith is proving 6th man of the year was deserved. Chandler is coming around and Kenyon is just a beast. As always you can follow us @westcoastknicks @jeffcerulli @mattritter1 We will be back after they wrap up this round!

  • West Coast Knicks Fan Episode 23 - Number 2 Seed is Ours

    16/04/2013 Duración: 43min

This week is the last regular season podcast. And it ended the way it began, on a high. We beat our nemesis the Pacers in a rugged game, that now leaves us with a week to get rested for the aging Celtics, who Matt and Jeff both agree are going down in 5 or 6 games. We give our final top 5, this time it's for the entire season of work, so Copeland doesnt get named, but he did have another solid game and Jeff feels maybe he's leapfrogged Novak for post season minutes. Matt laments Melo's lack of national support for MVP considering he's the only star of a top team without another star at his side..though JR Smith is making a case to be paid like one. Dont worry we will be podcast deep into the playoffs, perhaps all the way to the championship! As always you can tweet to us: @westcoastknicks @mattritter1 and @jeffcerulli. Thanks for listening

  • West Coast Knicks Fan - Episode 22 - Melo on Fire!

    09/04/2013 Duración: 42min

This week Matt and Jeff revel in the best week in 20 years. Beating Miami and OKC, Melo dropping crazy buckets, everyone on the team playing well, Chandler coming back strong. What else can we say, this team is a legitimate title threat and the whole league knows it! Matt apologizes for his bad prediction of 49 wins and for thinking Prigioni was blah. Jeff's pick of 53 wins is looking low! As always, you can follow us on twitter at @westcoastknicks, @mattritter1 and @jeffcerulli and please give us many stars on iTunes and follow us on Podomatic!

  • West Coast Knics Fan - Episode 21 Let the Good Times Roll

    02/04/2013 Duración: 33min

Wow. What a week. The Knicks are on the biggest roll since maybe the 90s? Matt and Jeff discuss the continued resurgence and the domination of Boston. With the absolute biggest game of the season looming against Miami we discuss if the Knicks are clicking on all cylanders. It seems like mostly everyone is, especially potential 6th man of the year, J.R. Swish! • West Coast Knicks Fan Episode 20 - Complete 180, Heading in Right Direction

    25/03/2013 Duración: 40min

This week Matt and Jeff do a 180 on the season after last weeks road debacle. They rebounded strong in Utah and then handled business against Orlando and Toronto. What else can you say about Kenyon Martin except thank god he's here and kudos to Kurt Thomas for a valiant effort. All around good signs from Shumpert, Kidd, Smith, Prigioni and most importantly, Melo looks healthy. Can we hold on down the stretch while Chandler rests. Hopefully! As always you can follow us on twitter at: @westcoastknicks, @mattritter1, @jeffcerulli and follow us on podomatic and give us 5 stars on iTunes. Thanks!

  • West Coast Knicks Fan Episode 19 - Can We Stop the Bleeding - JL Cauvin

    19/03/2013 Duración: 01h07min

This week Matt is actually in NY for a live podcast with Jeff because he was in town for his Comedians at Law show. So they finally got a chance to look each other in the eye and admit this team is rubbish. We may or may not go 0-5 on the West Coast trip, but Jeff and Matt agree to write it off because of injury. We break down how other top teams would fare without their three best players and decide only the Spurs would do well. Matt is then joined by special guest, J-L Cauvin, fellow member of Comedians at Law who happens to be a Jazz fan. He explains how that happened and we reminisce about 90s era ball. We debate whether Tim Duncan is really a center and talk about our two pretty crappy teams. We break down the Jazz for a few minutes, he tells us why they have screwed up their big man situation and how fans are a bit friendly towards the great white hope, Gordon Hayward, before J-L gives his opinion on the Knicks (he's a Melo hater). As always you can follow: @westcoastknicks @mattritter1 and @jeffceru

  • West Coast Knicks Fan Episode 18 - Is our Season Ruined?

    12/03/2013 Duración: 39min

There's no other way to say it, our season's hopes may have been dashed with the news that Amare is gone for the rest of the year. He was really playing dynamite ball, Jeff even convinced Matt he belonged in the starting lineup. To make matters worse, Melo's knee is obviously worse than the staff is letting on, which is their M/O. The Knicks hung with OKC and slaughtered Utah with their B team, which now may be the roster for a while. Kenyon stepped in nicely. But the real question is, what is the realistic outlook for this season that once looked so promising. Really bummed out. • West Coast Knicks Fan - Episode 17 - Back on Track, But Not on Heat Level

    05/03/2013 Duración: 32min

Matt and Jeff are back to discuss a pretty solid week. We survived 54 from Steph Curry, almost took down Miami for a third time and held on against the Cavs without Melo. We discuss Jeff's campaign to start Melo, why James White is even on the roster and whether the Knicks can survive a brutal upcoming stretch. As always you can follow us on twitter: @westcoastknicks, @mattritter1 and @jeffcerulli.

  • West Coast Knicks Fan - Episode 16 - How Much Trouble Are We In?

    26/02/2013 Duración: 44min

After a much needed break, the Knicks came out in the second half of the season totally flat. Losing to Toronto and getting annihilated by Indy. They rebounded/saved their season? with a complete win over Philly. As usual Matt and Jeff discuss whether Kidd is finished, whether Shumpert was ever good, why Amare isnt getting the ball enough and whether he should be starting. Matt still likes his energy off the bench, while Jeff feels that Kidd and Shumpert starting creates a huge void. We also bid farewell to Jeff's favorite player: Ronnie Brewer. We hardly knew ya. As always you can follow us at @westcoastknicks @mattritter1 @jeffcerulli and please rate us high on iTunes and follow us on podomatic.

  • West Coast Knicks Fan - Episode 15 The All Star Game Cant Come Soon Enough

    11/02/2013 Duración: 36min

This week Matt and Jeff discuss a rough week that ended with a loss to the very tough Clippers. The game had it's ups and downs. Melo looked like a beast, Felton played his best game in a while and...well thats all for the good. The bench was blasted out of MSG, especially JR who is clearly not on the level of J Craword. That much is clear. CP3 could not be stopped, Griffin was entirely unimpressive, but hit a few key jumpers. Matt thinks the biggest problem is Woodson's stubborn refusal to tweak the lineup, maybe a Kurt Thomas could have helped. Jeff wonders whether Shumpert isn't a good as we thought and maybe we are looking at him with our Landry Fields rookie glasses. In any case, losses to the Wiz and Clips and wins against Pistons and T-wolves made for an ugly week. Just win against Toronto and we can all feel good about a 33-17 start! • West Coast Knicks Fan Episode 14 - Complete Domination

    05/02/2013 Duración: 48min

This week Matt and Jeff are like all Knicks fans: on cloud 9! How can you not be. We discuss a very easy and rewarding week, probably the best since the beginning of the year, if not better than that because now we know we are good, we don't just hope it. We discuss Amare's investment in post moves with Hakeem and consider starting a Kickstarter campaign to get Jeff and I to Hakeem's post camp. We ponder whether there are any real issues right now? Is anyone bothered by Felton's D? We obviously still may need some rebounding help, but if Sheed comes back or Camby, does this team really have any holes? Starting to dream big Knicks fans, come along for the ride! We also discuss Jeff watching the game in person vs. Orlando while I watched the disgraceful Lakers in LA and we sympathize with the Grizzlies fan base for Hollinger's first move which seems like a bad one. • Episode 13 - Knicks at Full Strength

    28/01/2013 Duración: 39min

This week Matt Ritter and Jeff Cerulli discuss the week that saw a nice win in Boston and a home win against Atlanta sandwiched around a brutal loss to Philly. More notable was the return of Shumpert and Felton. Which means basically for the first time all year, the Knicks are at full strength. We discuss whether the team as constructed has what it takes to win or if we need to make a move. Some positive signs from Amare and Melo has one of his solid Melo games where he wills the team to victory against Atlanta. An easy stretch ahead should give us some room to breath with the Nets hot on our trail. You can follow us on twitter at @westcoastknicks, Matt - @mattritter1 Jeff - @jeffcerulli and like us on iTunes and follow us on Podomatic

  • West Coast Knicks Fan - Episode 12

    22/01/2013 Duración: 46min

This week Matt Ritter and Jeff Cerulli discuss a very light week for the Knicks. A win in London vs the bottom feeding Pistons and a rough, rough loss to a bitter rival NJ Nets. We discuss again how rebounding and effort are becoming major problems and how we wish we had a guy like Reggie Evans instead of a stiff like Copeland. On the bright side, Amare's work with Hakeem seems to be paying off, although he looks visibly shorter and is getting stuffed everytime he drives baseline. Once again Melo and JR are having rough shooting outings, although there really aren't many options for shooting. We run through the available free agents in an effort to avoid having K-Mart come to the Knicks. Matt's personal choice would be Dan Gadzuric. Jeff seems to like a guy named Marcus Cousins, not to be confused with DeMarcus Cousins. This is the Marcus Cousins. We look ahead to a rematch against the Celts where the smell of Honey Nut Cheerios may be wafting through the air vents and pray that the Knicks can rip off a win

  • West Coast Knicks Fan - Episode 11 - Arturo Galletti (Wages of Wins)

    14/01/2013 Duración: 01h45min

Wow, what a crappy week for our Knicks, beaten by 3 of our main Eastern Coference rivals, the Celtics, Pacers and Bulls. Melo gets suspended after KG gets in his for the infamous phrase "your girl tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios". Luckily, we had the deadbeat Hornets to salvage the week and a good performance on both ends. Jeff and I give Copeland player of the week for stepping up big. Then I have special guest, NBA stat geek, Arturo Galletti of Wages of Wins on the podcast. We breakdown how they measure players and why Melo in his opinion isn't on the level of Lebron and Durant. He talks about Melo lacking the mental skills of those top tier players. I try my best to defend Melo against the numbers that show him ranking below AK 47 and Matt Barnes. In the end, we agree, that this Knicks team may have a legit chance to unseat Miami because Kidd and Chandler have done it before. You can follow him on twitter at @arturogalletti and check out their site wagesofwins.com. As always you can follow @westcoastknick

  • West Coast Knicks Fan - Episode 10

    07/01/2013 Duración: 46min

Happy New Year Knicks Fans! Well, it's been an up and down few weeks, mostly down with a few tough losses to Portland and Sacramento and more importantly a major injury suffered by Felton has really affected the offensive flow. On the plus side, we beat San Antonio and Orlanda and we are starting to work Amare back in, he and Melo seems to be clicking a little, he's rolling well of the screen and roll, but as we suspected, he is a disgrace defensively. His claim of never having been taught defense as a 30 year old player is just disgraceful. Jeff and I go over our top 5 Knicks of the first week of 2013 and make our picks for the week.

  • West Coast Knicks Fan - Episode 9 - Cousin Mikey

    24/12/2012 Duración: 59min

We end the year in style by bringing on Cousin Mikey, another West Coast transplant who spends his days gambling on Basketball with a bunch of Australians and buying all the hot new NBA kicks. We discuss his views on Amare - he has always ranked him as one of the NBA's biggest cancers and on Melo - he agrees that the man has been reborn. He has many theories, one is that Melo's game has improved due to unknown personal factors. I describe the Amare-Melo dynamic, which I believe to be basically Amare is Melo's driver. We also get into some Laker and Clipper talk and even discuss the upstart T-Wolves who gave us quite a scare this week, before J.R. Smith and Melo willed us to victory. It was a tough week after our first home losses, but hopefully we can step it up on a relatively easy 3 game west coast swing. Happy Holidays to all of our listeners. Thanks to those of you who tuned into my new TV Show "Chained to My Ex" Jeff Cerulli and I will be back to discuss the 2013 drive to the NBA finals after the ne

  • West Coast Knicks Fan Episode 8 - Joe Praino

    18/12/2012 Duración: 01h07min

This week we get the man behind the amazing fake twitter, Coach D'antoni, who has been providing us with fake insights of the coach we love to hate. Comedian Joe Praino and I discuss getting pro-active and using fake twitter accounts to express yourself in a way that nobody lets you do using your real name. We discuss his memory of sitting in Ewing's seats and getting yelled at by Spike Lee Jeff Cerulli and I discuss Linsanity's only visit to the Garden where he and the Rockets absolutely annihilate us again, I chalk it up to Melo's absence or maybe they have our number. We also rank the top 5 Knicks of the week, Copeland makes his first and maybe only appearance..and we rag on our girlfriends for not being Knicks fans. Also, Matt briefly discusses his new TV show "Chained to My Ex" which premieres this Sunday night on MSNBC at 9 PM ET/6 PT. Please watch!

  • West Coast Knicks Fan Episode 7 - Frank Isola

    10/12/2012 Duración: 56min

This week, we get to hear from another great guest, NY Daily News beat reporter, Frank Isola, who has been covering the Knicks since 1996. He shoots me down after I suggest Novak is better than Ray Allen and reminds me that Tyson Chandler didn't fare so well in the playoffs against Bosh. Basically, the reality check podcast. It was a great week, starting with J.R. Smith's first career game winner in Charlotte. The monster's dethroning of King James and Company without Melo. An ugly but hypercompetitive loss in Chicago and finally a really nice comeback win against a very hardworking Nuggets team with an Italian with a chip on his shoulder. Jeff Cerulli and I unveil our new weekly Knicks rankings, somehow James "Flight" White makes Jeff's list.

  • West Coast Knicks Fan Episode 6 - Justin Kanew

    03/12/2012 Duración: 01h01min

Amazing Race competitor, film producer and die hard Knicks fan, Justin Kanew joins us to talk about the past week where the Knicks took care of business against a few inferior opponents. We also talk about his experience shooting a comedy with the legendary Jean Claude Van Damne. As usual, Jeff Cerulli and I debate my feelings on Sheed and Priggioni, who I'm starting to come around on. Sheed finally gets his first ejection, but did he deserve it and did we just find out that Copeland is really good. Most importantly, Jeff and I discuss whether a top flight Urban Professional League team could defeat a WNBA team. Can we make this matchup happen somehow?
