How would you define or describe freedom? Are you free? Why or why not? We’d love to know what you think. This is what our Spiritual Reality Check entitled “Set Free” examines today. Because, for most people in Western society, freedom is understood as autonomy, the freedom to make our own choices for the sake of our desires without fear of penalty or restriction, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else or infringe upon their freedom.Jesus, however, describes freedom first as an inward reality that is experienced only when one lives the truth in relationship with God. This sort of freedom is a spiritual freedom from sin which would otherwise enslave us and prevent us from experiencing the life that God intends us to have. Are you living the life God has created you for?
