Mid-west Farm Report - Madison

Wisconsin's Farm Service Agency offices remain busy gathering damage reports from heavy snow.  Sandy Chalmers, Executive Director of Wisconsin's FSA offices, says they're nearing the end of that process.  She also expects that they'll soon have details on the 2018 Farm Bill and the application process farmers have to go through for various programs.  One area they're focused on right now - helping farms that have been turned down by their conventional lenders for operating credit. Mike North with Commodity Risk Management Group out of Platteville says we need to keep an eye on what's happening with consumer demand for cheese.  Will consumption stay strong?  It could be the big dairy story developing in 2019.
