Sinopsis

2019-E2: The effects of physical activity on your bones during adulthood and ageing We discuss the findings from very large longitudinal study from the UK called the National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD). The main findings were: - Greater participation in physical activity over 28 years was positively associated with bone density at all sites. - There were sex differences: greater effects in men than women; these were mainly driven by muscle mass. - Any physical activity that is performed is beneficial for your bones, whether it be at age 36 or 60-64, it's better than not performing ANY at all.
