Are you a good parent?  How so? Basis what?  Is it because your ward did exceeding well academically?  If so, why does the industry have  so much mediocrity? Or are you a proud parent because your child has done exactly what you imagined for them? If so, why are so many children depressed? Are you a succesful organisation because you hired academically top talent?  If so, why do companies fail to grow to their top  potential?  Parenting, academics and your job, are undeniably interconnected isn't it? Yet, with such a compact integration, we have so many anomalies. Think of those parents whose children are academically challenged fail to show an alternative path or know how to explore other avenues that their  child's talent may offer.
