Love is based on POSITION not PERFORMANCE. Our love for our spouse is not based on how they are performing, how much they do for us, or if they’re meeting our requirements. There is nothing we can do to make Him love us more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▪️The Bible actually commands marriages to look like this! Ephesians 5:25 says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✖️God shows us love before we even knew what love was. The Bible says, “we love because God first loved us.” (1 John 4:19) He loves us because we are His people. We only know true love by knowing Him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ➕This is such amazing grace — because we know our “performance” is such a rollercoaster.
