This episode features the David Nelson and Friends performing their first set at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California, on March 3rd, 2018. Last week, we finished listening to a nice Robert Hunter performance. David Nelson is a contemporary of Hunter AND Jerry Garcia. He’s best known for being a co-founder and longtime member of the New Riders of the Purple Sage. I liked the little stories that David told in between songs during both sets of this performance about Jerry. Of course, we’ll listen to the second set next episode.
