Tottenville Evangelical Free Church

This sermon explores the divine qualifications required for a high priest, demonstrating how Jesus Christ perfectly fulfills and exceeds these requirements. The preacher outlines three key criteria: the necessity of humanity to represent mankind, the need for compassion toward the weak, and the requirement of divine appointment rather than self-exaltation. By contrasting the flawed Old Covenant priesthood with Jesus' sinless nature and humble obedience, the text highlights His unique ability to serve as a sympathetic mediator. The message urges believers to recognize their identity as a royal priesthood, called to offer living sacrifices and proclaim the gospel in response to Christ's work. Ultimately, it emphasizes that salvation and entry into God's presence are secured solely through faith in this qualified Savior.
