Pastor Jon continues our “Secure the Bag” series with a powerful reminder: the real question isn’t what do I have? it’s what has my heart? God is intimately concerned with our well-being. He cares deeply about what’s shaping our lives. In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches that wherever our treasure is, our heart will follow. Our heart is our capacity to love and grow, so if our treasure is placed in things that can fade, be stolen, or destroyed, our hearts become vulnerable too. What we fix our eyes on shapes everything. Our priorities, our decisions, and our direction all follow. And Jesus is clear. We can’t serve two masters. It’s not about balance, it’s about who truly leads our lives. “God, free me from anything trying to take Your place by having control over me.”
