Locked On Sixers

The Philadelphia 76ers have now have a season-long three-game winning streak after holding on to beat the Jazz Saturday night 114-111. Both Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey came away with 32 points in the contest while Guerschon Yabusele contributed 12 points off the bench with eight rebounds, five of them on the offensive glass. The Sixers were certainly coming off an emotional win against the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day, so in the early going of this matchup with the Jazz, the Sixers looked like they were ready for a let-down game. The Jazz outscored the Sixers in tonight's opening frame 34-22. Then the Philly came back to life in the second quarter winning that frame 35-18.   The Sixers would never really take control of the game the way they did in the second quarter, but late in the fourth quarter when Joel Embiid checked back into the game at the 7:28 mark he was able to control the pace of play. Your favorite podcast now has a newsletter!
