Mozart: Concerto for Two Pianos in E-flat, K. 365

Peter Frankl, professor of piano at the Yale School of Music, celebrated his 70th birthday with a concert on the Horowitz Piano Series that featured piano concertos by Mozart for 1, 2, and 3 pianos. For the concerto for Three Pianos in F major, K 252, he was joined by colleagues Boris Berman and Claude Frank. He then performed the Concerto for 2 Pianos in E-flat, K. 365, heard here, with Robert Blocker, pianist and Dean of the Yale School of Music. The program concluded with Mr. Frankl's performance of the Piano Concerto in B-flat, K. 595. The entire program was conducted by Shinik Hahm and members of the Philharmonia Orchestra of Yale. The concert took place before in Morse Recital Hall in Sprague Hall, which was sold out for the occasion, on October 14, 2005.
