St. Paul encourages the Thessalonians to abound more and more in the way that they are walking according to the word of God. His will for their lives is holiness, which He gives to His people. Such holiness manifests itself in the lives of Christians through chastity, purity, and self-control. Because we know God, we do not live as the pagans do.
