We're finishing the year by squaring the circle and chatting again to Dr. Quentin Genuis ahead of his J-Term class at Regent on Addiction, Personhood and Christian Communities. Quentin has just released a book, Recovering People: Addiction, Personhood and the Life of the Church, distilling insights and stories from his work as an emergency doctor, his theological training and experience learning in community in the Downtown Eastside in Vancouver. Quentin speaks compassionately and insightfully about addictions, their causes and consequences, and the ways that churches and communities can attend to the underlying hunger for connection that persons with addictions fear to lose in the process of recovery.
