From July 1st, prices of some 1500 prescription medicines are set to drop by about 4.5%, due to the Israeli shekel's gains against the euro and other currencies in a periodic review of the exchange rate. David Pappo, Chair of the Pharmaceutical Association of Israel, told KAN reporter Naomi Segal that the price adjustment will primarily be felt by those who pay for the medicines out of pocket, rather than individual who purchase them through their health fund.
