Sinopsis
An Egyptian court has recently issued a controversial ruling regarding the famous St. Catherine Monastery in the Sinai, the oldest Christian monastery in continuous use since the 4th century. The ruling declared the entire area Egyptian public property and implied that it could evict the monks and turn it into a museum. Archaeologist Avner Goren who was the chief archaeologist for Israel in the Sinai for 15 years and very familiar with St. Catherine, said the situation was unprecedented in its long, long history. He told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that the situation was still under negotiation and time will tell if it will change. (photo: Yossi Zamir/flash90)See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
