This Thursday and Friday will be the People’s Peace Summit – two days of performances, lectures, meetings and happenings devoted to making peace and coexistence. It’s being held around Jerusalem and also at the Binyanei Hauma convention center on May 8th and 9th. The summit is an initiative of “It’s Time,” which is a coalition of some 60 Jewish and Arab organizations. Thousands are expected to attend. Maya Savir, an Israeli writer and Israel country director at Search for Common Ground, an international peace organization who is involved in the summit, spoke to reporter Arieh O’Sullivan.
