Rabbi David Rosen, until recently the head of interfaith relations for the American Jewish Committee and currently special adviser to the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi, said Pope Francis had close personal relations with the Jewish community but was also profoundly affected by the suffering of Christians in the Holy Land. Speaking with reporter Arieh O’Sullivan, Rosen also said there were reasons to be concerned over the next pope, who could come from a part of the world which could have little ties with the Jewish community.
