Reservists demand equal duty, call on ultra Orthodox to be drafted

Informações:

Sinopsis

Tens of thousands of Israelis have done hundreds of days of reserves since the war began, and they are still being called up. But reservists are protesting for the government to carry through with the law and conscript the tens of thousands of ultra orthodox yeshiva students into military service in order to share the burden. Zevik Ben Shahar, the head of the Jerusalem Chapter of the Reservists Movement said that the ultra orthodox community’s refusal to serve “makes me sick.” In an interview with Arieh O’Sullivan, they have reached out to the haredi community and said that most want to serve but are being held back their leaders and the current government coalition.
