Prime Minister Netanyahu is  in Washington  for a previously unscheduled meeting with President Trump. Yesterday, Netanyahu met with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer at the Blair House. Netanyahu’s advisers said they were optimistic about the prospect of either canceling the tariffs on Israel entirely or reducing them to a degree that would avert meaningful damage to the Israeli economy. The prime minister and the president are also expected to discuss Iran and  the negotiations with Hamas over a ceasefire and hostage release deal, which have failed to bear fruit so far.
