Treena Ringgold is the Director of Sozo Performing Arts Ministry & CEO & Founder of PlayLady Studios.  At an early age, Treena always had a knack for writing stories.  However, her gift would lie dormant for many years until 2007, with a push from her Pastors, Treena wrote and directed her first stage play called, “The Lunch Date”, which tackled complex social issues such as domestic violence and AIDS.   In 2009, Treena won the National Black Gospel Play Award, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee for her play, “Preach the Word”. Since that time, Treena has continued to write plays that challenge the traditional structure. Treena has partnered with various community groups to raise awareness of social issues facing the African-American community.  She has also performed her plays at local universities such as Morgan State and Salisbury University.
