Locked On Yankees

The New York Yankees swept the Minnesota Twins, and Clarke Schmidt had his best start as a Yankee, throwing eight shutout innings with eight strikeouts. The offense scored five, and Yankees pitching shut down the Twins offense for 26 out of 27 innings in the series. After Ryan Jeffers's lead-off home run in the bottom of the first on Tuesday, the Yankees’ pitching didn’t allow a run. Schmidt had swing-and-miss stuff on Thursday, and the Yankees won another series. This is the 17th time since 2002 that they’ve swept the Twins in a series (regular season and playoffs combined).
