 The cabinet vote  on the new military draft bill , scheduled to take place on Tuesday, has been postponed because ministers failed to agree on an acceptable compromise. No new date has been set for a cabinet discussion. Before the postponement , Prime Minister Netanyahu assured the members of his own party who are opposed to the bill that its wording would be changed before being put to a Knesset vote.  Professor Dan Ben David is the  president and founder of the Shoresh Institution  for Socioeconomic Research and an economist at Tel Aviv university. He told KAN's Mark Weiss that the controversy over the age of ultra-orthodox exemption from military service misses the point and the problems of the Haredi community go much deeper.
